Hellebores ( Christmas Rose )

In the dull months of January and February the appearance of flowers is all the more welcome.

Hellebores are one of the few perennial plants that will deliver every winter; A beacon of light in a season of dark days. A member of the buttercup family it’s flowers are worth discovering – from pure white to pinks and purples they are particularly attractive. In almost a modest fashion, the flowers tend to face downwards which actually adds a touch of intrigue. They are happiest in part shade with rich soil conditions.

Their common name of Christmas Rose should remind anyone of their worth to the winter garden. Be kind to yourself and plant some winter cheer in your garden.
