Callicarpa – Amazing Winter Berries
This has got to be the top plant for jaw- dropping berries in winter.
The berries, which are almost a luminous purple/violet colour.
What’s more, they are not a favourite of birds so the berries can persist for months on bare branches.
This is one of the many plants that survived the arduous journey in the 18th century from the Americas where it originates from.
Provide good soil, plenty of moisture and a shady location and then look forward to a berry display that will impress any visitor to your garden.
